YESTERDAY IN POSTSEASON PLAY:
With the NLCS having concluded the previous day, we all had the
opportunity to enjoy a momentary respite from the MLB postseason. It is one
that is already guaranteed to be remembered for a long time as this marks the
resurgence of many of the previously abysmal teams in baseball including the
Astros, Cubs, Mets, Blue Jays, and a few others who are continuing to build
upon their recent resurgences. As I have stated before, this looks to be the
first trip of many for a number of these teams but again its baseball so the
landscape could be completely different next year after many of the players
still in action hit free agency. Only time will tell but for now it is time to
rest.

THE BEGINNING:
The
Phillies finally put an end to the season finishing in last place in the NL
East with a record of 63-99. Given the departures, aging stars, injuries, and
bipolar performances, this has ended up being one of the worst seasons in
franchise history! However, there are some former Phillies still making
headlines in the playoffs this year.
